Design Joburg Collective’s debut in Kramerville this June was proof enough that Media 10’s innovative new approach to satiating the appetites of décor and design devotees was a winning formula.

Once again backed by our headline sponsors Sanlam Private Wealth, this new iteration, taking place from the 28th to the 31st of October 2021, has been extended to four days in celebration of a buoyant décor and design landscape.

We’ve expanded DJC’s geographical footprint, to include satellite sites at Victoria Yards and 44 Stanley. In addition, FNB Art Joburg Open City will be exhibiting concurrently across 26 complementary art galleries and institutions across Johannesburg. October promises to be a real ‘moment’ for South African design and art.
The Kramerville Design District proved the quintessential arena for DJC’s debut and will remain the main pivot for our free-to-attend showcase. With the Highveld’s best weather month as backdrop, visitors can expect a super-sized urban experience: design that rivals the best in the world, including all the winning elements from our June debut – plus many new and exciting features too.
Taking full advantage of Kramerville’s indoor-outdoor layout, organisers have carefully planned their exhibits, installations, talks, pop-ups and activations to follow suit. Think: ice cream, iced coffee bars and wine tasting to the sound of live music, including some famous local musos (yet to be announced).
Furthermore, the ever-popular Fourways Farmer’s Market will be present for scrumptious sit-down meals, a wide choice of liquid refreshment and fresh takeaway arts and crafts.
The two sister-districts, 44 Stanley and Victoria Yards, will also be hosting various art exhibitions and activations. Combine this with FNB Art Joburg Open City, and Design Joburg Collective: Summer Edition promises to be a city-wide celebration of culture and creativity!
